Taking responsibility for your own food choices

The clean up efforts are slowing down in the gulf. The government is starting to open up the fishing grounds for harvesting crabs, fish and oysters again. The media is spreading the tale that everything is good and well with the cleanup sense we cannot see as much oil on the surface of the water. The oil and chemicals have not gone anywhere it just has broken down into smaller particles. The media and government are playing the out of site out of mind game, so no one looses anymore money. Do you hear any warnings or reports about the toxicity of the chemicals in the water and how it will effect the food chain? I have not seen very many especially in main stream media.

WE as individuals need to take control of our food saftey. No one else is going to do it for us. Lets take responsibility for what we eat and not depend on the government and others to judge and control our health and well being. In the end we are each individually responsible for our own health. Lets stop looking to the government to solve the issues in our world and start taking care of them ourselves. Individually we can change our buying habits. Together with our buying power we can make a difference in the quality of the food for which is available. If we as a collective continue to buy chemically and altered foods we are simply saying OK to it. Each purchase we make is a vote. What everyone votes for is what is available. Our buying habits dictate what is available to the general public. Lets change our buying habits and assist each other in providing a healthy food selection to the collective.

I’m not suggesting we stop eating all Seafood. I’m saying we take responsibility in knowing the Source of it before it is purchased and consumed. Americans especially have gotten used to fast food eating, don’t ask don’t tell attitude. To where no one really knows the source of their own food. For instance do you know where your meat and vegetables come from? Not just the weekend cook out food. I’m talking everyday food that you eat? If we want healthy food then we can not continue to pass the burden of responsibility onto others. We individually need to take responsibility. Together WE can make a difference.

Love, Joe
